Add a video clip to a scene
For: all plans
You can put your own video clip into a scene, next to your animation.
- In the scene editor, click + Add, then Video. Upload a video (MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 500 MB), or click Pick from My Assets to use one you uploaded before.
- Choose how it sits in the scene: Full frame, Panel, Rounded or Circle, then Fill the frame or Show all of it. To start partway into the clip, set Start at a number of seconds. To end it earlier, set Stop at, and the scene's length follows.
- If the clip shows a person or an avatar talking, check This is a person or avatar talking, and keep Use its sound on.
- With Use its sound on, the video's own sound becomes the scene's sound, the scene's voice line is turned off, and the scene lasts as long as the clip (up to 2 minutes). It's played exactly as recorded, so lips and voice stay in sync.
- Render the scene.
A clip longer than the voice-over makes the scene longer, so the whole clip plays. A note says how many seconds have no voice. Click Match the voice-over to bring the scene back to the voice's length.
A clip shorter than its scene plays once, then its last frame stays on screen until the scene ends. The panel tells you for how long. Click Fit the scene to the clip to end the scene when the clip does. A scene can't be shorter than the time everything in it needs to appear and its voice needs to finish.
If it doesn't work:
- One video per scene: a presenter counts as one. Once a scene has a video, the Add menu shows Video · one per scene. Remove the other video first.
- Longer than 2 minutes: trim it, or split it across scenes, with a different Start at point in each.
- "We couldn't read this video's sound": upload it again, or turn off Use its sound.
