Make your video in another shape

For: All plans

A video for a website is wide (16:9). For phones and social media, a tall (9:16) or square (1:1) version often fits better. You can make a copy of any finished video in another shape.

  1. Open the movie in the Studio. For a client's video, open the business and click Open in the Studio.
  2. Next to Make a copy in, pick the shape you want.
  3. Click Make the copy.
  4. Explaindio opens the copy. It's named after your movie, with the shape at the end, like "Bold Welcome (9:16)".
  5. Every scene renders again in the new shape. When they're done, the copy puts itself together.

What stays the same: the words, the timing and the voice. Your first movie doesn't change.

Credits: the copy renders every scene again, so it uses credits like any render. If you charge a client for an extra shape, price it to cover that.

Want a second copy in the same shape? Click Duplicate. It makes a new movie with the same scenes, words and voice, and opens it. Nothing renders, and no credits are used, until you render the copy. Then every scene renders again, like a new movie.

For a client's sample: Make a copy in and Duplicate show only after you click Client paid — make the full video. Before that, the sample stays in its one shape.

If it doesn't work: If the copy can't be made, check for a classic slide. Some classic slides come in one shape only. Change that scene, or make the copy in a shape the slide has.
